About

Before Philippines

Asiasoft Corporation Co. Ltd. was incorporated in 2001 and is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand. Before its venture into the Philippines, it began its live service gaming operations in Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.

The PlayPark brand was introduced in 2011.

Entering the Philippine market: 2012

In 2012, Asiasoft Corporation, through its Singaporean subsidiary Asiasoft Online Pte. Ltd., announced that it was planning to enter the Philippine market.[1] On February 10, 2012, one of PlayPark's SEA games, MapleStory SEA, announced that it would open its servers to Philippine players starting from March 7, 2012.[2] The servers were shared among Singapore and Malaysia.[3]

At that time, two other brands were introduced: PlayFPS and PlayCyberGames. Both brands target specific game genres; PlayFPS for shooter games and PlayCyberGames for MOBA games. Both brands were eventually shut down, and all games since are placed under the PlayPark brand regardless of game genre.

PlayPark Philippines: 2014

In 2014, Asiasoft Corporation acquired the Philippine company Level Up! Inc. The acquisition includes the licenses to Level Up!'s active game roster and the publisher of Level Up!'s games, Playweb Games Inc. The Level Up! brand was used as marketing for a couple of years before it was entirely retired in favor of the PlayPark brand.

Asiasoft renamed Playweb Games as PlayPark Inc., also known as PlayPark Philippines. The company operates and manages the brand in the country which includes hosting multiple events under the PlayPark brand, such as PlayPark All-Stars and PlayPark Xtreme Paskuhan.

Play-to-earn rebranding: 2022

In January 2022, PlayPark updated its logo with a more modern look to prepare the brand's venture into "game publishing 3.0", which refers to web 3.0's play-to-earn games.[4] On April 2023, Asiasoft Corporation announced that its shareholders had passed a resolution to rename the company to "Asphere Innovations".[5] The name change took effect on May 11, 2023.[6] The rebranded company changed its logo to a design similar to PlayPark's logo.
