Ragnarok Online 2: The Gate of the World is a canceled MMORPG that was being developed by South Korean developer GRAVITY Co., Ltd. and was the planned sequel to Ragnarok Online. The publishing rights for the game in the Philippines were held by Level Up!, which promoted the game in various events before GRAVITY scrapped it in favor of developing Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second.

About

The Gate of the World ran in closed beta from 2006 to 2010 in South Korea. Due to its poor reception, this version of Ragnarok Online 2 was scrapped and another version, Legend of the Second, was developed instead.

In the Philippines, its publishing rights were held by Level Up!, which was the then-local publisher for the first Ragnarok Online during The Gate of the World's development period. According to Level Up!, the game was not intended to replace the original Ragnarok Online, but would instead be published alongside it.[1]

By 2007, Level Up! promoted the game which was set to launch in 2008.[2] It was later revealed that the game was originally scheduled to launch in the 3rd quarter of 2007, but the game suffered multiple bugs and lacked content to justify a release.[3] The release of the game in the Philippines was delayed indefinitely.

GRAVITY eventually scrapped the Gate of the World in July 2010.
