Edge of Time Episode 1: Rise of the Aeus

Edge of Time Episode 1: Rise of the Aeus is a canceled puzzle and action game that was developed by the Filipino team Gilator.

As of June 2024, the game is still listed as coming soon on Steam. However, since there has been no activity for years, this game is considered vaporware.

Background

Gilator is comprised of the four developers from Nexus Pixels that developed the MMORPG Pacifica Online.

About

Kickstarter

The game was originally planned to be crowdfunded. On May 30, 2018, Gilator started a Kickstarter campaign for the timespan of May 30 until June 29, 2018. The campaign had an asking goal of S$74,000[note 1] and had an estimated delivery date of December 2018. Gilator immediately canceled the campaign on June 1, 2018, with plans to restart the campaign in the future.

On June 4, 2018, the Edge of Time YouTube channel published a video entitled "Edge of Time - Coming soon to Kickstarter" as a means to promote its crowdfunding efforts. A demo was also made available to the public, as well as an announcement that the game would be coming to Steam Early Access.[1]

Steam

The game was added to the Steam store on June 6, 2019. It is listed as "coming soon" to Steam's Early Access. It had an original release date of 3rd quarter of 2019. However, on September 17, 2019, the release date was changed to "TBA". The last major change on the page was the addition of a game trailer on February 27, 2021.[note 2]

On the Steam page, one of its objectives was "porting to Unity engine for graphical enhancement".

Vaporware

The game's Facebook page has since been deleted, and the game demo is no longer available. While it is still listed on Steam as coming soon, as of June 2024, this game is considered vaporware.
