CABAL Online Philippines (CABAL Legacy)

CABAL Online Philippines, later rebranded under PlayPark as CABAL Legacy, is the first official CABAL Online server serviced in the Philippines. It ran from 2008 until 2024, when its developer, ESTSoft, refused to renew the contract with PlayPark.

It was one of the most popular and profitable games for E-Games (the publisher that first handled it) and PlayPark. It operated for 16 years, making one of the longest-running MMORPG server in the Philippines that started with the live service gaming boom of the 2000s.

A SEA server for CABAL Online, known as CABAL Ultimate Combo, was published by ComboInteractive in 2025.

History

Under E-Games and Level Up!

CABAL Online Philippines was first published by E-Games. It was formally announced during the Domination II event. A five-day closed beta stage was held from May 15 to May 19, 2008. The open beta stage started on May 24, 2008. The game went commercial on June 12, 2008, to coincide with the Philippine Independence Day.

It was moved into Level Up!'s roster in 2012 when E-Games was merged with Level Up!. The game was later moved into PlayPark's roster after Asiasoft Corporation acquired Level Up! in 2014.

Closure under PlayPark

On May 8, 2024, PlayPark announced that the Philippine server would shut down on June 11, 2024.[1] The announcement came days after CABAL Online GSP (Global Service), published by ESTGames, announced that the global server would shut down on June 27, 2024. The Philippine server was one of the most profitable and active communities out of all the official servers. However, ESTSoft did not want to renew the contract with PlayPark.

ComboInteractive, the publisher that would later service the CABAL Ultimate Combo SEA server, had already publicly announced its partnership with ESTGames in April of 2024.

According to Dylan Ensui, a CABAL Philippines content creator, PlayPark originally had plans to implement major updates (Episodes 36 and 37) for the 2024 anniversary, establish a SEA server, and organize an international tournament before the publisher was forced to discontinue.
