Mobius Live

Mobius Live was the music-based, social media portal and digital store of Digital Media Exchange Inc. that was launched in 2006 as a sub-brand of the Mobius. The platform allowed members to purchase individual music tracks from various independent artists via its online music store at an affordable rate. The service is no longer available.
About
The idea of Mobius Live was conceptualized while trying to expand the Mobius platform beyond the gaming market. According to Jojo Anonuevo, then-president of Digital Media Exchange Inc., "market research showed that music ranks among the top forms of entertainment consumed by gamers. Secondly, we are now experiencing a huge shift worldwide in how music is consumed – from CDs to tracks being downloaded to iPods or MP3 players. Thirdly, we have spent time building the ideal platform for micro e-commerce, or sachet (tingi-tingi) distribution, which we can leverage beyond online games. These three factors combined, along with our experience in building online communities, made our decision to go into online music a ‘no-brainer.’"[1]
Mobius Live was headed by Edgar "Edge" Pamute, DJ and owner of music events promoter Soundsgood. The platform allowed its members to purchase music at a rate of ₱20 or US$0.40 per track. The tracks were priced at 70% less than those of other music stores, and artists received more than 50% of the revenue share. [2]
Its main competitor at the time was Fliptunes by Mozcom, Inc., a now-defunct internet service provider in the Philippines.
