Under Rico Gutierrez
No news of the movie came to public, until in 2010 when Filipino film director Rico Gutierrez announced a new RAN Online adaptation attempt on his Facebook page under the working title "RAN 2011". Filipino actors Richard Gutierrez and Rhian Ramos were planned to be in the movie.[2] It was meant to be an entry by GMA Films for the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival.
The movie was pushed back a year and was renamed to "RAN 2012". The movie never surfaced, with Rico Gutierrez confirming its cancellation on his Facebook page.[note 1]
