Project Phoenix, formerly known as Project Xenon, is a canceled cyberpunk-themed, third-person action-adventure RPG that was being developed by Philippine developer Anino Entertainment. The game was originally planned to be released in 2008 for PC and Microsoft Xbox 360.

About

Anino Entertainment announced the development of Project Xenon in 2006 when it revealed pre-production screenshots of the game to Hackenslash. Anino founder Niel Dagondon stated that the game was expected to launch by 2008 and would be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.[1]

In January 2007, the game was renamed to Project Phoenix. A playable prototype was shown to Hackenlash. Niel Dagondon stated that the game is still largely in pre-production and that the actual development would start soon. It was still planned to be launched in 2008 but for the Xbox 360 and PC only.[2] Anino also gave more details about the game during an interview with Starcade.[3]

In November 2007, Anino Entertainment told Hackenslash that the project was put on indefinite hold. Senior producer Paraluman Cruz stated that the game was put on hold as the company "pursues other platforms". He stated that while the company's end goal is to build next-generation games, they needed to expand their current-gen portfolio to increase their experience and credibility.[4]
