FILIPINO firm Anino Entertainment made history when it launched the first Philippine-made commercial PC game Anito: Defend a Land Enraged in 2003. Now, the game developer is eyeing next-generation consoles.

Anino recently showed screenshots of a new game currently in pre-production for the next-generation game consoles and PC.

The game is tentatively called Project Xenon and will be a futuristic role-playing game. Xenon, incidentally, was the codename for the Xbox 360 when Microsoft first announced that it was developing the successor to the original Xbox.

The company did not reveal more details but its founder Niel Dagondon previously said the game will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms.

The game’s launch date is expected to be sometime in 2008.

This will be Anino’s first time to develop a game for a next-gen console. Hackenslash will keep you updated on Project Xenon as more details became available.
