Khan: Absolute Power

Khan: The Absolute Power, also known as Khan Online, is a 3D MMORPG developed for Microsoft Windows. It was published in the Philippines from 2004 until 2008. It was initially published by netGames and was continued by Level Up! after its both publishers were merged.

History

Khan: The Absolute Power was published in the Philippines by netGames. Its open beta began on September 20, 2004, and launched commercially in January 2005. A Khan party was held on November 20, 2004 at the Big Kahuna Bar and Grille in Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City.

In 2006, netGames was merged with its competitor, Level Up!, and transferred Khan to the latter's game roster.

Closure

The game was discontinued by Level Up! on April 30, 2008. The game was concluded with "A Letter To All Khanatics", an open letter that was posted on the game's website.

A Letter To All Khanatics

Dear Loyal Khanatics,

We would like to give our heartfelt thanks for the unwavering loyalty and support you have shown us for the past 3 years. Such display of devotion towards the game and its community exemplifies the true spirit of a real Khanatic – hardcore and loyal!

Khan and its community have seen its fair share of changes and cool events throughout these three years together. Let us recall some of Khan’s glorious history all the way from its humble beginnings:

  • A new full 3D MMORPG was launched by netGames on September 2004 called Khan Online.
  • Khan Online went commercial in January 2005
  • Touted as one of the MMORPG’s with the best party system.
  • Khan has been known to hold some of the most exciting guild wars!
  • Very diverse community known to possess the most “angas” factor be it in-game or in real life.
  • LU Live BakbaKHAN 2006 -2007

With the of netGames and Level Up! under the backing of ePLDT, it solidified our position in the market as we pushed Khan towards the next level.

Our colorful Tournaments, EB’s and events in-game made Khan the stuff of legends among local MMORPG’s today.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end…

After much thought, our management has decided to discontinue the contract for Khan which will expire on April 30, 2008, due to the lack of developer support, no new content, and patch fixes for in-game exploits/bugs.

It pains the Khan team to have to say farewell to all of you as the journey thus far has been very enjoyable. However, some things must end for new beginnings to take place. .

As for our compensation, we will be giving out extra MyLu Credits to our Loyal Khan Players and also reimbursing all remaining Tugrik and Game Time: Compensation Mechanics

Level Up! has opened the gates to one of its’ games to welcome migrating players…
