Background
2016 bottle flip challenge trend
Bottle flipping is the act of throwing a plastic bottle filled with liquid into the air so that it rotates, in an attempt to land it upright on its base or cap.
On May 2016, a video of a teenager performing a successful bottle flip on a high school senior talent show was uploaded online. The video became viral, and it started the bottle flip challenge worldwide.
Several game developers have attempted to translate the trend into mobile games. The bottle flip gameplay is a physics-based game where the player swipes the screen in order to throw a bottle into another area of the level, where it must land on its base. The direction and intensity of the swipe will determine the trajectory of the bottle. Flippy Bottle Extreme was one of the most successful games that capitalized on the bottle flip trend in 2016.
