After five grueling months of the RPC 2005 tournament and a grand tour of the Regionals from Olongapo to Davao, the champion has finally been crowned last June 26, 2005 at the World Trade Center: Team Hatred of Lydia! Hatred defeated Chaos stalwarts, Rad Computers 3-2 in an exciting battle that reached the last game of their best-of-five series.
Hatred, sponsored by Collegian Internet Café, came in strong during day 1 of the 2-day Finals. Hatred swept their entire matches during the first day to come out on top with a perfect 12-point record in the single round robin format. They then proceeded to defeat The Executors of Fenrir in their semi-finals match en route to facing Rad in the Finals.
Hatred takes home one million pesos as cash prize (the biggest prize pot for a gaming tournament), trophies, and processors from Intel. Level Up will also donate P500,000.00 cash on their behalf to a school of their choice and P100,000 will be given to their favorite Internet Cafe.
Team Hatred is composed of Conrad James Faraon, 18; John Madlangbayan, 19; Carlo Templora, 22; Melvin Yee, 19; Mel John Toan, 20; Zyrus Lunas, 19; Andrew Justin, 22; Jhun Richie Chua, 19; and Emmanuel Tanyao, 19.
Although Hatred drew first blood in the first game of the best-of-five finals, Rad Computers, after some strategic adjustments, took games 2 and 3 for a commanding 2-1 lead. Not one to give up, Hatred took matters into their own hands and came from behind by rallying their offense at the closing minutes to take game 4 and tie the series 2-2.
In the final match witnessed by around 3,000 attendees, it was Hatred who managed to take down Rad's Hunter in the last two minutes with a well-placed Mammonite and finally nailed the coffin on Rad's bid for the Championship.

Games and Amusement Board chairman Eric Buhain was guest of honor during the opening ceremonies of the event. Buhain said that tournaments like the RPC can lead to the recognition of video gaming as a legitimate and professional sport. "I am happy and honored to be invited here today for the culmination of RPC 2005. I will do everything in my power to support and help endeavors like these so that one day, video gaming can be recognized as a professional sport like in other countries," Buhain said.
Meanwhile, a total of more than thirteen thousand gaming enthusiasts were seen trooping into the World Trade Center not only to witness the RPC matches but also to take part in the biggest pRO community fiesta ever seen. Guild-based events such as the Ragnafest were a huge hit as well as contests like the Ragnarok National Art contest, RO Filmfest, Cosplay and various other activities like Poring Sumo and Rok Climbing.
There were also demos of new and upcoming games from Level Up such as pROSE Online, RF Online, and Hyper Relay.
The huge crowd was entertained by bands from the Rok On music album such as Kamikazee, Moonstar, Typecast and SVC. MTV VJs Maike Evers, Claire Olivar and Don Puno hosted the event.
