RP team defeats Malaysia and Indonesia, puts up a good fight against Thailand team!

Bangkok, October 8, 2007 – The Philippine team sent by IP e-Game Ventures Inc., (IP e-Games), the leading local online game publisher of free-to-play massively multiplayer online games, became 1st runner up in the 1st RAN Global Tournament, the biggest PvP (player versus player) competition in Southeast Asia.

The RAN Global Tournament (GT) is one of the biggest online gaming tournaments in the region and the best RAN Online gaming teams from Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia participated.

The Philippine team was composed of Benito Carlo David S. Brosas, and Adrian Justin N. Magtoto and Ronnuel R. Florida, Battle Royale winners, and Zulius Czar C. Apostol, winner of RAN Online’s Search of the Fourth.

Team members used character and stat skills for RAN Online level 147 characters. The match is a best out-of-three match. When a team wins two consecutive matches, they get 3 points. If they win the first round, loses the second, but wins the third round, the team gets 2 points.

In the first match, the RP team beat Indonesia, 2-0 quickly. Brosas, the team leader said they combined their attacks (called Starfall and D.O.D). “We went on the offensive and synchronized our attacks and it worked pretty well,” he said.

For the next match, they went against the Malaysia team. Using more varied attacks but the same offensive strategies, they were able to pummel the opposition.

But Thailand was on the winning streak as well defeating the Malaysia and Indonesia teams.

The final match was between Thailand and the RP team. In the first round, the Philippines won by making short work of their support characters. But the second round proved different as Thailand rebounded using their skills to weaken the RP team.

The final round proved to be the clincher. The Thailand team had two characters to heal their characters while the Philippine team only had one. In the end, it became a war of attrition. “They had two Shammies (Shamans are full support RAN Online characters) so they had the advantage. We only had one and we were more on the offensive. In the end their shammies helped them tremendously in the fight. They're good, ” Brosas said.
