Level Up KL 2018 Day 2: Celebrated Winners of SEA Game Awards, SEA Game Jam & IPCC

Day 2 of Level Up KL 2018 bolstered the same amount of hype as it was on Day 1. Along with the informative panels by game professionals from all over the world to the exhibition filled with creative Southeast Asian games, it was the day of celebration for game development industry and our local esports industry!
The final day of Level Up KL 2018 also marked as the momentous day for the Southeast Asian game development industry where creative and innovative games are celebrated in the 2nd SEA Game Awards. Here are the full list of the winners:
Best Technology – Nightstream by Streamline Games
Best Visual Arts – She and The Light by Mojiken Studio
Best Game Design – Re:Legend by Magnus Games Studio
Best Audio – Songbird Symphony by Joysteak Studios
Best Storytelling – Coffee Talk by Toge Productions
Best Innovation – Simulacra: Pipe Dreams by Kaigan Games
Best Student Game – Terminus Lockdown from KDU University College
Audience Choice Award – Iteno by Why Creative
Best Rising Star – Songbird Symphony by Joysteak Studios
Grand Jury Award – No Straight Roads by Metronomik
More than 100 games were submitted for this year’s Intellectual Property Creators’ Challenge (IPCC) from amateur and professional game developers from all around Malaysia to support and grow the digital content market. Divided into two sub-categories which are the game prototype and commercial ready game, here are the grant recipients for the commercial ready game:

Ageless by Bala Vicknesh a/l S Ravichanthiran
Rokudo by Heaven Tales Entertainment
Monsoon Merchants by Centaur Games
Mecha Royale Online by Illogical Games
Prior to the Level Up KL 2018 conference and exhibition, more than 95 jammers joined the SEA Game Jam to create a game under 36 hours. Here are the groups who prevailed the game jam:
Champion – It Will Be Mine by Team C
First runner-up – Team E (Perfect Life)
Second runner-up – Team A (Chasing Dreams)
During the occasion, Media Prima Digital and Kitamen successfully signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost the Malaysian esports industry into the next level. The momentous occasion was also witnessed by Youth & Sports Minister, YB Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) CEO Datuk Yasmin Mahmood.
