A player from the Philippines claimed a gaming milestone by beating the rest of the world in the MOBA game Strife’s Race to 70 competition.

Within minutes of WG King achieving his feat, S2 Games (developers of Strife) posted the announcement via Twitter:

And within the same day, WG King got a visit from Strife Philppines Product Manager Gian Adriano at the café where he usually plays at Wargods Gaming Arena at Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, Philippines:

“This is very exciting not only for Strife gamers but for all gamers from the Philippines! This goes show that our gamers can really compete with the world.” – Gian Adriano (Strife Product Manager)

WG King (Alvin Rillera), 26 years old from Manila, Philippines achieved level 70 (the maximum level in Strife) on October 4, 2014. Strife had its last wipe and announced the Race to 70 promo as they went Open Beta August 29, 2014.

His prize is an all expenses paid trip to the S2 Games Studios at Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA.

Less than a week after he achieved his feat, S2 COO (Chief Operating Officer) Scott Valencia boarded a plane to the Philippines to meet-up with WG King and congratulate him personally.

“This is an awesome feat for the Philippines! This is one of the many reasons why S2 has gone here to the Philippines and support Level Up’s efforts into creating a better environment for Filipino MOBA gamers. I really believe that gamers from the Philippines like WG King will make their mark in Strife globally.” – Scott Valencia (S2 Games COO)

Included in the meeting between WG King, S2 Games, and Level Up! Games was the possibility of an alternative prize as it is known that securing a US Visa is difficult in the Philippines.

We asked WG King what’s next for him in Strife:

“Syempre World Champion dapat kami ng team ko! (Our team should definitely win the World Championship!)” – WG King (Alvin Rillera)

WG King is an example of the motto for Strife Philippines “Less Grumble More Rumble” where he made his skills do the talking and that got him to the top of the Race to 70 competition.
