World Cyber Games 2005 is the fifth mainline World Cyber Games event. The Grand Final was held at Suntec Singapore in Singapore on November 16 to 20, 2005.

This annual event was preceded by World Cyber Games 2004 and was followed up by World Cyber Games 2006.

Samsung Cyber Games 2005

The Philippine representatives for the main tournament were the winners of the Samsung Cyber Games 2005 (SCG 2005) national tournament. Nine players were chosen to represent the country. The individual champions each won ₱30,000 in cash and a Samsung mobile phone, while the five-man Counter-Strike: Source team received ₱150,000 and a Samsung mobile phone for each member.[1]

Team "Horsemen of the Apocalypse" (HoA) was represented by the following:

Results

Team Philippines was placed in Group H of the best-of-one group stages. They won against Finnish team "astralis" (not to be confused with the same-name Danish esports organization "Astralis"), and Thai team "hesheit". In the first round of the playoffs, they were defeated by German team "mousesports".

They were the first Filipino team to advance from the group stages in the main WCG tournament.[2]

Philippines was represented by SCG 2005 champion, John Benedict Cruz, and the runner-up, Arby Jao.

Need for Speed: Underground 2

Philippines was represented by SCG 2005 champion Israel Magante.

StarCraft: Brood War

Philippines was represented by SCG 2005 champion Byron Bongon.
