Virtua Fighter's Vilaspara

Vilaspara is a fictional city and is the primary setting in the upcoming 2027 fighting game Virtua Fighter Crossroads (VFC). Vilaspara is confirmed to be heavily inspired by the Philippines.
Fictional background
Vilaspara is a city in the crime-ridden, Southeast Asian tropical nation of Makaria. The city itself is located on Nusa Libre Island. The nation is presided over by President Bato, and its government is described as corrupt.
Reveal
VFC was teased by SEGA as early as May 2026. Filipino fans began to notice similarities between the setting of the game and Binondo, also known as Chinatown, in Manila City in the Philippines.
On June 6, 2026, a full reveal was released to the public, which included various media materials and a 25-minute showcase video about the game. The additional media materials strengthened the speculation that its fictional location, Vilaspara, is based in Binondo, Manila City. This was confirmed with an interview with VFC producer Riichiro Yamada, who stated that "the Philippines was the best fit" for the game's believable setting, and that Vilaspara is heavily inspired by the Philippines.[1]
