History

Santa Rosa, Laguna office

On March 28, 2016, Ubisoft announced it would open a production studio in the Philippines. The studio was linked to Ubisoft’s Southeast Asia hub through Ubisoft Singapore Pte. Ltd. The Philippines was chosen in part because Ubisoft Singapore had hired a contingent of employees from the Philippines.[1]

The studio was located in the De La Salle University campus in Santa Rosa, Laguna, and aimed to hire 50 people in its first year.[2] The company chose Santa Rosa for a variety of reasons such as schools, recreation, less crowding, and the proximity to the Enchanted Kingdom theme park.[1]

Ubisoft Philippines participated in the Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) 2016 as an exhibitor partly to find individuals interested in pursuing a career in the gaming industry. Ubisoft has since been a frequent exhibitor in the annual ESGS events.

Move to Bonifacio Global City

During the Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit 2023 event, Ubisoft Philippines announced that it would be moving its studio from Laguna to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig, Metro Manila.[3] The BGC studio was opened in early January 2024.
