TerraWars Online, formerly known as TerraWars: Counter Attack, was a canceled cooperative first-person shooter that was in development around 2007 by Philippine-based game studio LadyLuck Digital Media. It was planned to be released on the PC, Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii.

TerraWars Online was to be set in a post-apocalyptic scenario where advanced aliens have invaded the Earth, and remnants of the world’s military forces are regrouping to stage a counter attack. The game was a planned sequel to TerraWars: New York Invasion.

About

Gameplay

The game was planned to be a first-person shooter where missions can be completed in single player or cooperatively with other players. It would have featured a non-linear gameplay where a player can freely select his mission. Players can choose their avatars, and the gameplay loop involves leveling up their characters as well as their weapons and items.

Its in-game world would have been expanded from the first game, and would have spanned over 50 maps with hundreds of human and alien weapons and items that can be upgraded. The game was also planned to feature FMV cutscenes to explain the origin of the alien invaders, which was not explained in the previous game.

Development

Local gaming site Hackenslash announced the development of TerraWars Online on January 2007. The game was reportedly being developed using LithTech Jupiter Extended engine, the same engine used in Monolith's F.E.A.R. game. LadyLuck founder and president Luis Mañalac stated that they were hoping to release the game on PC by the end of 2007, followed by console releases in 2008. While LadyLuck would have been responsible for developing the PC version, they planned to outsource the development of the console ports.[1]
