Ragnarok Origin Classic Tyr Cup Season 1
Tyr Cup Season 1 was a major tournament for the mobile MMORPG Ragnarok Origin Classic (ROOC). Its on-ground grand finals were held on July 11, 2026, at the Union Mall in Bangkok, Thailand. Team Encore, an all-Filipino team, was the champion of the tournament after beating Team poek, from Indonesia.
The tournament had a prize pool of US$1 million, with US$500,000 awarded to the champion. It is the highest prize pool for any Ragnarok Online-based tournament to date.
Team Encore holds the title for the third-highest cash prize won by a Filipino team in a single esports competition, next to Team Liquid PH's Mid Season Cup 2025 run in Mobile Legends (US$1 million) and TNC Pro Team's The International 6 2016 run in Dota 2 (US$519,262).
About
Tournament format
The tournament was a 10v10 cross-server event that was open to anyone to participate. It was mostly held online, using various PVP game modes, until the top 2 teams remained. The grand finals were held on-ground on July 11, 2026, at Union Mall in Bangkok, Thailand.
The players' own characters on their own servers were used up until the top 96 teams were chosen, after which the tournament entered fairplay mode, where pay-to-win advantages were removed by giving both teams identical characters, progression, and resources, leaving the rest of the tournament strictly to players' skills and strategies.
Prizes
The tournament had a total prize pool of US$1 million for the top 32 teams. US$500,000 was reserved for the champion, US$100,000 was reserved for the runner-up, and US$50,000 was reserved for the two teams defeated in the semifinals. The remaining US$300,000 was shared among the remaining 28 teams. Virtual rewards were also given to the top teams.
Team Encore
Team Encore is a team comprised of Filipino players. It is best known within the game community as being comprised of veteran Ragnarok Online players, including popular Ragnarok streamers and content creators Awie "Afy" Reyes and Julius "Banoobs" Mariano. Outside of the Ragnarok Filipino community, the team is best known for the inclusion of Johnmar "OhMyV33Nus" Villaluna, a popular and now-retired Mobile Legends professional player and 2021 world champion.
