Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO is a 2016 augmented reality mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices.

While the initial hype for the game has died down since the first few years, as of 2026, the Philippines still has multiple active communities throughout the country, with some participating under the official Pokémon GO Ambassador Program.

About

Pokémon GO was first announced to be released in select Asian and Oceanic countries, including the Philippines, on August 5, 2016.[1] The game was released on the morning of August 7, 2016, one month after its initial release on July 6, 2016, in the United States.

On August 12, 2016, SM Supermalls launched a nationwide Lure Party to celebrate the launch of the game.
