GG Game
GG Game, originally known as the GG E-Sports Platform, was the Southeast Asian online gaming portal and community site of Ocean Global Holding Ltd. (previously Ocean Technology & Media Pte. Ltd.) and ran from 2005 until 2008. It was succeeded by the Garena platform.
It provided coverage for the esports scene and helped organize various tournaments in the SEA region.
History
GG Game is the first venture of Singaporean entrepreneur Forrest Li. It was later succeeded by Li's second venture Garena on 2008.
GG Game included a news section that featured both the local and international esports scene and coverage from notable tournaments like the World Cyber Games.
GG Client
GG Game is best known in the Philippines for its "GG Client", an application that included VPN software that supported a number of games including WarCraft III.
The client did not enforce the legitimacy of installed games. It became instrumental in popularizing the mod Dota-Allstars in the country, as it allowed players to play over the internet using unlicensed copies of WarCraft III.
GG Client was succeeded by the Garena+ client.
