Official Statement Re The Status Of The Philippine Team In Rwc 2011

It is with deep regret that we announce to everyone that 5 out of the 7 members of “Naked Nanaman?”, our nation’s representative to the 2011 Ragnarok World Championships in Seoul, South Korea; were not given travel VISAs by the South Korean embassy in Manila.

Together with our partners, Gravity, and our official contacts, we have exerted all efforts to communicate with the consulate and tried convince them to send the entire team up to the very last minute. Sadly, the embassy did not reverse its decision.

In light of this, Team Pilipinas has officially conceded to the RWC 2011 tournament officials. But, in the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie, the RWC 2011 tournament committee has allowed us to field a team here in Seoul composed of some Ragnarok players who came with us here to support and cheer our team.
Although it is unlikely that we will win, we want to show the host country and all our RWC friends and fellow competitors that we, Filipinos, do not give up easily and we will always value the spirit of friendship, sportsmanship and world unity that Ragnarok, the RWC and e-sports continue to promote.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped us to open lines of communication with the South Korean embassy, to Gravity Inc, to all our PlayWeb co-workers, to our players, to their friends, family and guildmates who supported us during those trying times.

Thank you very much.
