Powered by ROG Net Shop, troopers assembled for the Special Force ROG Champions League held at the METS 2017 three-day event. In the Qualifier last August 9th, participants came from different locations such as Digos, Kidapawan, Davao, and GenSan.

The first eliminations saw DavaoDeathForce vs FoetwentyV2 and NCGC vs DavaDeathForce2 with both match ending with 2-0 sweep in a best of 3 series. With the SFPC Mindanao Champions Team Foetwenty in attendance, a close match ensued against Team Ranger. Unfortunately, the Mindanao Champs didn’t have enough luck to win against Team Ranger with a 2-1 score. The very last round saw a 7-7 score with a 2-vs-1 situation with Foetwenty’s captain Jap- on the short end of the stick. Team Ranger advanced to the Semifinals against NCGC.

Foetwenty V2, sister team of the SFPC Mindanao Champions, made it to the Semifinals and up against Team Maximus. Again, like their brothers-in-arms, a close match ended with a 2-1 score, a win for Foetwenty V2, and tickets to the Finale last August 11th.

The Special Force ROG Champions League Finale saw a gruesome battle between Team NCGC and Team Foetwenty V2. However, JSN_Jaaaaaay, MABINNNNNNNN, /D/A/A/N/E, UtoyGanja and KieshaMiel of NCGC successfully dominated the finale ending the battle with a 2-0 sweep in the best of 3 series. Thanks to their battle tested experience as a team made up of SFPC Area Champion players from Kidapawan and Tagum, NCGC secured the top spot and the title as ROG Net Shop Champions League 2017 winner. They went home with exclusive Special Force Online merchandise, and a sweet Php 12,500.00 CASH prize on top of in-game items. Team CGH crowned Special Force 2 ROG Net Shop Champions League 2017 winner
The Special Force 2 ROG Net Shop Champions League culminated at the three-day event of METS 2017. Four winning teams from the ROG Champions League tournament held months before secured their spot in the Final 8:

CGH – Jacinto Davao Champions,
Maximus – Malvar Davao Champions,
XGH – Cagayan De Oro Champions, and
The Generals – GenSan Champions.
Four more slots were filled by the Wildcard Qualifiers scheduled last August 10th. From the eight participating teams, including Vigilant, ReHub, Varia™, and Vination, only Public Enemy, SCUnderground, SixHundredSixty6 and Insergic qualified for the remaining slots in the Final 8.

With a double eliminations set up, the four winning teams were in the Upper Bracket while the Wildcard Final 4 went to the lower bracket with a Best of 1 match in the eliminations. SixHundredSixty6 dominated all the teams in the lower bracket. Though they suffered from a close match against Maximus and XGH, they still won with a 2-1 score in the best of 3 series in both matches. They were smooth sailing unti they reached the Finals and went up against Team CGH, the best team to come out of the upper bracket.

In the Finals, Team CGH won the first round of the best of 3 series with a score of 7-6. They played in Missile Map, said to be the best map of team SixHundredSixty6. Scratch of SixHundredSixty6, a former member of Viggo.net from Manila, scored an unforgettable 3-clutch kills moment during the 5th round of the match. Add to that, UnsaOni successfully defused the bomb Team CGH planted despite being in a 3-vs-2 situation. From the 2-point lead of Team CGH, Team SixHundredSixty6 recovered some rounds until they reached a 6-4 score for this match and secured a 2-point lead against the opponent. But because of the effective defense made by Team CGH for the next 3 rounds, SixHundredSixty6 had a hard time to push in. The win for this round still went to Team CGH.

Going to the second round of best of 3 series set on the Guantanamo map, said to be a map favorable to Team CGH. The teams fought their best but, again, CGH’Ramji, CGH’Bordss, CGH’Yuno, CGH’Amats and CGH’MacCGH of Team CGH managed to execute their gameplay properly, won this round and the tournament.

With Team CGH named as the Special Force 2 ROG Net Shop Champions League 2017 winner, they bagged a Php 50,000 cash prize, exclusive ROG T-shirts, a permanent weapon of their choice and of course epic bragging rights as the king of champions in Mindanao.

For their valiant efforts, Unsa○ni, -Scratch, [MW]ALPHAmale-, [MW]TanyaPrnStar and [MW]Pjay’ of SixHundredSixty6 walked away with the First Runner Up rewards of Php 30,000 cash prize with Special Force 2 merchandise and 90 days weapon of their choice. That’s not all, the Second Runner Up won a Php 15,000 CASH plus Special Force 2 merchandise and 60 days weapon of their choosing. Last but not the least, the Third Runner Up got a Php 5,000 CASH and 30 days weapon of their choice.
